quiet, easy, in the centre of the city, cheap.
The staff were very nice. The hotel is close to a supermarket which offers a discount showing the hotel key and the hotel has a small refrigerator. Wifi is weak but they have a computer next to the receprtion which you can use for free. Also, there are lots of discount coupons for museums and transportation and some food machines at the reception. There is a safe and a device for pressing pants in the room
There is no elevator and the stairs are very steep. And the floors are very thin so you can hear people walking above you, sometimes in the middle of the night.
Friendly and helpful personal. Reasonable price. Tram to Centraal Station right outside the hotel!
There were several restaurants near the hotel, but for breakfast they were not open yet. Though, at the hotel yopu can by cofee, and then take the tram to the center and have your breakfast there - so it was actually no problem at all.
The price was good enough and the location is ok.
Hotel Plantage was clean and comfortable and ideal area for a short stay in Amsterdam. The Manager was very nice and helpfull. The Hotel was close to Amsterdam Centre, Tram stops, had several bars and eating places nearby and just across the road from Amsterdam Zoo which I must say, much to my suprise was fantastic, The animals are very well looked after and the zoo is set in botanical gardens, spent a full day there and still did not see it all.
Friendly staff, clean modest rooms, nice location by reasonable price, no need to bring key to the reception every day- in fact you get your own flat
Bad sound isolation, weak wi-fi signal, no hooks or any hangers for clothes, no toileteries, no breakfast
The hotel was spacious and clean Had everything we needed for a short weekend break
The stairs are a little steep, not ideal for elderly
friendly staff parking for 25 euro, even though the garage is about 1 kilometer away from the hotel good location, nice restaurants nearby
The management was great, very friendly, helpful, available. The facility had great security. The location could not have been better, right next to the zoo in the cleanest part of town, public transportation readily available any time but very quiet at night. Room was quite large for a European room with a great balcony. I had a friend stay at the king hotel on the other side of town, he was in a tiny room with rude management in a filthy noisy neighborhood for the same price. I would not hesitate to stay again, and plan to on my next Amsterdam stay!
I liked everything about this hotel.
The hotel is close to the center and bike rentals, so the transportation is very easy. Also the neighborhood is very nice. Just next door, there is the zoo, which is a must see in Amsterdam.
The rooms could have been more clean. Also the hotel is very close to the tram lines, which would make it difficult to rest if you have a light sleep.
Near city centre quiet and most of all could smoke
Refreshments could be free tea coffee
Friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent value for money. Ideal for a group of friends. Had everything we needed, inc. Fridge, safe, balcony, smoking room, tv with good english channels and many more useful features. Location was good, only 15 minute walk to central station. Some very good restaurants near-by. Staff also held onto out bags for us when we checked out but had ages to wait for our flights.
From a hotel for this value for money, nothing. You would be stupid to expect more.
Location is a little out from the centre but very easy to access by the excellent tram system, number 9 from Centraal station. Beds were extremely comfortable and the area is fairly quiet. The man on reception when we arrived around 11am was helpful and allowed us to leave our baggage prior to check-in. We had a good meal at pizzeria on Plantage Kerklaan, and the espresso is good and breakfast ok at Cafe Koosje downxstairs.
It is a little difficult to find the entrance which is simply a locked door requiring you to buzz reception, around the corner from tram stop. The stairs are very narrow and steep so my daughter and I struggled with our large suitcases. The twin room we had was quite small, with little space around the beds which were pushed together. This hotel is certainly budget standard and yet is the most expensive I have bookedin a month travelling from Amsterdam through France to Barcelona. It would be nice if rooms had coffee and tea making facilities (or at least a kettle) not just the vending machine in the tiny reception area. I would stay closer to centre for my next visit
The room was simple, clean and practical, hotel is only 10mins from town centre and is in a quiet area, hotel staff very friendly and helpful, will stay agaun but get a bigger room
Perfect hotel for a city get away in amsterdam, hotel staff very friendly!! Polite an trustworthy, we had attic room very cute and small but ideal and good value for money. Slighlty away from main area but so easy to walk there and to be honest I appreciated that! Only thing id say as a girl is that the hairdryer isnt all tht gd so take a travel one! Would def recommend this hotel :)
